Coming from sunny South Africa, the prospect of heading to a country with its fjords and mountains largely ladened with snow was thrilling. Not to mention the opportunity of integrating and engaging with, as well as learning from, the most prominent salmon farming industry in the world. Experiences like this don’t happen to many very often, and so we embarked on this journey to learn how we can take our technology further afield.

Olaisen Blue, an in-residence program to promote stakeholder networking and engagements in Norway, selected MariHealth Solutions as one of their 3 annual portfolio startups to invest in. Having only registered in October 2021, and being amongst seasoned companies, we relished the opportunity for learning and growing.

This 3-month program entails a range of workshops, various field trips related to salmon farming, as well as investor engagements: The perfect opportunity for us to understand such an advanced and lucrative industry in aquaculture. Garnering trust and understanding is important to our company in fostering collaborative efforts for ensuring sustainable aquaculture.

Sarah elected to represent the company and take up the 3-month position at Lovund, Norway, for the purposes of working closely with salmon farms, vets and feed companies. Here she will develop a network of her own where she will not only test out the technology that MariHealth is offering, but also gain deeper insights and develop relationships with people and companies who share in MariHealth’s vision of proactive animal health management.
